Weather: The Garden Route in South Africa enjoys a mild and temperate climate throughout the year. Summers (December to February) are warm with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius (68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). Winters (June to August) are cooler, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius (50 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit). Rainfall is relatively evenly distributed, but the region can experience occasional heavy rains, especially during the winter months. Overall, the Garden Route offers a pleasant climate, making it a year-round destination for travelers.
Tour overview:
Day 1
Depart from Cape Town early in the day and make a pit stop for some delicious road trip snacks. Continue the journey to Wilderness, where you’ll embark on a late afternoon paddle up the Kaaiman's River to a beautiful waterfall. Afterward, savour a delightful dinner at our accommodation.
Day 2
Start your day with an early breakfast before setting off for the Half-Collared Kingfisher Trail. After the trail, proceed to Knysna for a leisurely lunch at the waterfront, followed by a scenic drive to the viewpoint overlooking the Knysna Heads. Conclude the day by heading to your accommodation in Plettenberg Bay.
Day 3
Gear up for an exhilarating 11km hike at Robberg Nature Reserve, keeping a keen eye out for sharks. After the adventure, recharge with a delicious lunch. For those seeking an extra thrill, consider the optional bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. Finally, unwind and rest at your accommodation in Plettenberg Bay.
Day 4
Wake up early and embark on a scenic journey back to Cape Town. Along the way, stop in Hermanus for a delightful lunch. Explore the charming town with a whale walk, and then continue your picturesque drive back to Cape Town via the scenic R44 and Clarens Drive.
